Eye inflammations
Eye inflammations are divided into inflammations of the anterior segment of the eye and deep inflammations that can affect the middle or posterior eye segment. This is most commonly an inflammation of the conjunctiva, i.e. conjunctivitis. Symptoms include irritation accompanied by tears, itching, burning, pain, and in more severe cases, sensitivity to light.
Dry eye disease
Dry eye disease is a disorder of the tear film that occurs due to a lack of tears or their excessive evaporation, which causes damage to the surface of the eye. It is associated with subjective eye disturbances such as straining, grittiness and redness. Artificial tears are the first step in treating dry eye symptoms.
Glaucoma
Glaucoma is a chronic, progressive disease of the optic nerve that results in loss of visual field and loss of visual function. The main risk factor is high intraocular pressure. The disease can lead to blindness if left untreated. Thanks to early detection and appropriate treatment, permanent vision loss can be prevented and the course of the disease controlled.
