JGL introduces a simpler model of monistic corporate governance at the beginning of the new business year
Rijeka, 19 December 2017 – Mislav Vučić will become the Chief Executive Officer of JGL on 31 December 2017. He comes to us from Teva Romania, where he carried out the successful integration of Actavis as the General Manager.
"I’m very happy and honoured to have the opportunity to join JGL in their new phase of business growth, development and improvement. We have a strong base in a number of therapeutic areas, which we will use to further advance on prospective markets, thus strengthening our financial position,” said Vučić on the occasion of assuming the new position.
After a three-year business cycle within the framework of a monistic organizational structure, with the aim of further strengthening its operational business and raising profitability, JGL enters 2018 with a simpler model of monistic governance. The new model implies one instead of the previous four executive directors, who will also be a member of the Board of Directors of the company.
"After the end of the mandates of executive directors, we will continue to operate within the framework of the monistic system, but in a simpler way. We are confident that this change will further strengthen our position in key therapeutic segments in select markets, improve the integration of business units within the system, and improve the ability to adjust even more quickly to market needs and changes that are a constant on the global pharmacy market,” said Ivo Usmiani, president of the Board of Directors of the company.
In his 20-year career at Pliva, Teva and Sandoz, Mislav Vučić has been involved in many areas of the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to his current position at Teva, he was a Senior Director for the specialty (innovative) business unit for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Senior Director for Prices and Market Access for CEE, Senior Director of Portfolio Management for CEE, Senior Director of Commercial Operations and Business Development for South-East Europe (SEE), Director of Business Development for Western Europe at the Sandoz Center in Munich, Teva Europa Portfolio Manager in Amsterdam, and he started his career at Pliva in 1998 in Strategic Marketing, where he later worked on acquisition projects.
Mislav Vučić holds an MBA from the Instituto De Empresa Business School, one of the best business schools in Europe, and he graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb. He speaks three foreign languages – English, German and Spanish.
