As part of a multi-day working meeting in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, JGL was visited yesterday by County Prefect Ivica Lukanović and members of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament. The delegation included more than twenty MEPs, among them Croatian representatives Biljana Borzan, Romana Jerković, Tonino Picula, and Marko Vešligaj, as well as the Chair of the S&D Group, Iratxe García Pérez.
This was the first time that the Group held a meeting in Croatia. Their hosts at JGL were Dino Ćoza Saršon, Deputy President of JGL’s Board of Directors, Mislav Vučić, Chief Executive Officer, and Renata Miculinić, member of the Board of Directors and employee representative. They introduced the delegation to JGL’s history, business results, achievements, and key products.
As the focus of this working meeting was on employees, the MEPs, guided by Vladimir Maleš, toured JGL’s sterile production facilities and learned more about the processes, technologies, standards, and working conditions in the pharmaceutical industry.
"Thank you to JGL for welcoming us. It’s fantastic to have the chance to showcase that our county is home to thriving companies. JGL is not only a story of strong business performance and international success, but also a shining example of commitment to research and development, employee care, and contribution to the local community,” said County Prefect Lukanović.
The delegation also visited the Education Centre, where they took part in hands-on simulations of various roles and activities – practising precision and fine motor skills in the AB class and testing hand hygiene through a ‘disinfection challenge’ using a UV lamp.
“Your company sets the standard for supporting the regional economy while fully meeting the highest EU standards. JGL demonstrates that growth, innovation, and competitiveness can go hand in hand with fair working conditions and gender balance policies. Nothing works without the people who make it happen,” concluded Iratxe García Pérez at the close of the visit.
