JGL’s Creative Campaigns Win Prestigious Awards

As part of the international DK conference, from 20-23 April in Rovinj, the award ceremonies of two prestigious marketing and communication awards were held. For each of them, the judges chose the best brand campaign and, out of all the gathered companies/clients, JGL had the most reason to celebrate.


Gold for Meralys and Silver for Vizol S at BalCannes 2023

At the regional creativity competition BalCannes, among very stiff competition, the Meralys campaign won gold in the category “Health and Pharmacy”. The Vizol S campaign won silver in the same category.

A record 180 projects were entered in this year’s BalCannes, with the jury of clients, agencies and the media awarding those that excelled in creativity and originality.

The campaign “What are you putting in your nose” for Meralys was conducted in cooperation with the creative agency Utorak, while the “Are your eyes sending you distress signals” for Vizol S was done by creative agency Señor. Thanks to these awards, JGL came a high third place in the overall rankings of companies/clients at this yearʼs BalCannes.


Gold and Grand Prix for Meralys at Effie 2023

The winning streak for Meralys continued, as, two days later, the “What are you putting in your nose” campaign at the Effie Awards received gold in the “Health” category and the Grand Prix 2023!

Effie is an international marketing and business initiative which promotes the connection between marketing activities and market results. For over 14 years, the Effie Awards Croatia has handed out awards for the most significant national achievements in market communication, which includes the nominees’ creativity, effectiveness, strategic approach and market results.

The Effie Awards Croatia celebrate the effectiveness of marketing communications, and the jury reserves the right not to award gold in certain categories, regardless of the number of finalists, depending on the quality of the campaigns. This is exactly what happened this year, with the Meralys campaign being the only gold awarded in 2023!

Given that Meralys has become the leading product in the entire category of nasal decongestants in Croatia, the campaign was also awarded the Grand Prix Effie, the main award of the competition. It is only awarded to the most comprehensive, creative and effective projects, which means it might not be awarded every year.
