JGL has recently received another ZelEn certificate issued by the Croatian state-owned energy utility HEP. This certificate serves as a testament to JGL’s care for renewable energy sources and environmental protection since 2013, which is when the company first became part of the ZelEn programme. Through the purchase of ZelEn products – electricity produced solely from renewable sources – JGL continues with its continuous investments in environmental standards and environmental protection.
In addition to using renewable energy sources, JGL works tirelessly on improving work and environmental conditions, and investing in the latest technologies and capacities, with the aim of reducing its environmental impact and raising awareness both in the company and in the community.
Already in the construction of its headquarters, situated in the complex known as JGL Pharma Valley, importance was given to the use of advanced technological and environmental solutions that enable a consistent increase in energy savings and reduction of the environmental impact. JGL also regularly implements the latest standards in energy management systems, and it has also taken part in an EU project aimed at introducing measures for achieving energy efficiency and using renewable energy sources at its production facilities. Thanks to its continuous attention to all activities that have an impact on the environment, the company’s energy savings are consistently growing each year. As an in-house source of electricity, JGL has also built a photovoltaic power station on the roof of one of its facilities.
Other efforts of the company in this direction include, among others, the reduction of CO2 emissions, the cleaning of waste water, and the installation of a solar system for additional heating of hot sanitary water. By implementing these measures and activities, JGL aims to become a leader in corporate social responsibility and to demonstrate how a company can be responsible towards the community in which it operates.
