The award ceremony for the third edition of the Realizator 2018 case study competition was held at the student campus in Rijeka, with JGL participating for the second year in a row.
The competition gives students the practical experience of real-world problem solving, as well as the opportunity to get in touch with potential future employers. The "Realizator” competition has already proved that employers actually implement the students’ business case solutions, and that the experience and knowledge gained there give participants the edge over their competitors on the job market.
A total of six teams participated in this year’s JGL business case study entitled Penetration (growth) of the Vizol S brand in Croatia through innovation ("Penetracija (rast) brenda Vizol S u Hrvatskoj kroz inovaciju”). In a short period of time, they produced some very interesting ideas based on primary and secondary research, showed thorough preparation, and delivered an excellent presentation and argumentation in support of the solutions presented.
Višnja Bilobrk, our Global Brand Manager, took on the role of JGL’s project manager and member of the jury, describing her experience at the "Realizator” as follows: "It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with the students and observe the results of excellent teamwork and amazingly positive and creative energy on the part of the participants, which made the entire competition a unique and impressive event. I felt that everyone deserved top marks in that regard, so I involved a multidisciplinary JGL team with the evaluation process.”
Based on all evaluation criteria, and a dedicated internal analysis, the four-person team "X-Gen”, comprised of Nino Požar, Karla Pavlović, Pegi Pavletić and Andrea Trbojević, who created and presented a solution based on an exemplary preparation and elaboration of the business case, won by unanimous decision.
Awards were given to the best solutions for each of the six business cases of the third "Realizator” competition – 38 students in 14 teams consisting of two to four members received prizes of HRK 3,000, HRK 2,000, and HRK 1,000 for the first, second and third places, respectively. The prizes totalled HRK 35,000.
All of the representatives of companies and institutions (the City of Rijeka, the Community Health Center of Primorsko-Goranska County, Geotech d.o.o., Jadranka hoteli d.o.o., Namještaj Mima, and JGL) commended the participants for their professionalism and high-quality solutions, emphasising that they were honoured to provide young people with the opportunity to learn by applying their knowledge to real-world projects.
