In line with its corporate social responsibility strategy, JGL continued partnering with the academic and professional community in the past period, opening its production facility as a place of learning for many schoolchildren.
In late January, third-year pupils from the Secondary School of Natural Sciences and Graphic Arts took a guided tour of the production site. Shortly after the visit, they contacted JGL again, hoping to organise another visit. This time the school hosted the “Winter School of Chemistry,” organised by Tomislav Portada, PhD, from the Ruđer Bošković Institute. Top pupils from across Croatia who qualified for the national chemistry competition were rewarded with a visit to JGL’s production site and laboratories.
In February, JGL also hosted pupils from secondary schools that are members of the Rijeka Technical Culture Community. They were given the opportunity to learn about the production processes at JGL as part of the “Network of Young Innovator and Entrepreneur Associations” project.
The goal of JGL’s long-term cooperation with education and scientific institutions is to provide young people who are yet to enter the workforce with knowledge and skills related to their chosen profession, as well as first-hand experience of what high-tech production and everyday business are like in the real sector, and also to establish two-way communication with schools JGL’s prospective employees attend.
