"Healthy for an A!" initiative reaps great success

We took part in the "Healthy for an A!" (Zdrav za 5!) initiative, the second component of the prevention programme related to environment protection and planning, organised by the Department of Prevention of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar Police Department with the aim of raising awareness on the importance of protection and preservation of the environment and nature and encouraging healthy lifestyles. More than 200 eighth graders from the primary schools in Rijeka, Zamet, Kantrida and San Nicolo participated in the initiative.

Together with the representatives of the Teaching Institute of Public Health of the PGK County and the diving club "Marco Polo", the children spent the morning in an ecological initiative dedicated to cleaning beaches and saw first-hand the official terrain vehicle and accompanying equipment for measuring the quality of the sea.

JGL became involved in this valuable educational action as part of its long tradition of the socially responsible "Sea is Alive" project, which enabled students to learn all about the richness of our underwater world thanks to the interesting lecture held by Maja Novosel, PhD from the Department of Biology of the Faculty of Science in Zagreb. The most active students, who gave correct answers to many questions about the sea, also received appropriate awards by JGL.

With the aim of raising children in a positive and encouraging environment that takes care of our resources, we have concluded another initiative and look forward to those in the future.
