A case study was organised this year as part of the long-term cooperation between JGL and the Department of Marketing of the Faculty of Economics in Rijeka. The activity was supported by the Croatian Marketing Association "Cromar". The topic of the business case was solving JGL's entry on the drug market in veterinary medicine, and assessing the potential of using human drugs for treating pets. Students throughout Croatia could apply to participate. The cooperation was intense, and the winning solution was chosen by professors and their colleagues from JGL's marketing department. Team members received an award, financial prize, and gift packages at the Cromar congress in Split on 23 October 2015.
Students found the topic very interesting because they had the opportunity to work on a concrete and real case that was of use in practice. One of the members of the winning team said:
"Participating in solving JGL's case study was an excellent experience. We had the opportunity to come in direct contact with the economy and receive a real task that the company wanted to explore. All larger companies should follow JGL's example and improve their cooperation with the education system. In that way, they would get new, fresh ideas from students, and these tasks could help young people realise what they would like to do in their lives and what career direction to pursue. We are thankful for the given opportunity!"
For JGL, the participation was an excellent opportunity to support the academic community in the segment of socially responsible business, but also a source of fresh, original ideas for one of the possible directions of future business. To top the competition off, the winning team consisting of: Gabriela Makovac, Daria Ragus and Maja Stipetić, accompanied by their professors from the Faculty of Economics, Jasmina Dlačić, Maja Vujičić and Iva Ribarić, visited JGL, presented the case to the employees of Strategic marketing and toured the company's production plants.
