INTEGRA Wins “Economic Event of 2023” Award According to Public Opinion

This year’s selection of people and events that marked 2023 ended with the award ceremony held on 4 December at the Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb, and we are extremely proud that our very own INTEGRA project won the “Economic Event of the Year” award according to public opinion!

“This award belongs to all JGL employees because they either directly or indirectly helped realise this major investment project. I hope that this award will motivate other companies that invest in research and development, production, technologies and new products – in fact, in the creation of intelligence and generation of intellectual capital in Croatia, as well as in the production of globally competitive products and exports that bring added value to our country”, said Mislav Vučić, Chief Executive Officer of JGL while receiving this prestigious award.

This contest for the “Businessperson and Economic Event of the Year” has been organised by Večernji list and Poslovni Dnevnik for eight years, with two awards presented in each category – one according to the opinion of the expert jury and the other according to the opinion of the readers/public.

During the nomination, five basic criteria were taken into account: business excellence, above-average business results, success of the investment project, creation of new jobs and export success. The award aims to create a new perspective on economic events in Croatia and direct the public attention to excellence that can serve as an example to others.

In this contest, organised by the most relevant and influential local media, INTEGRA won among stiff competition that included extremely important economic events:

  • Croatia’s entry into the eurozone and transition to the euro monetary system,
  • An investment by the company Knauf Insulation near Novi Marof worth 120 million euros,
  • The return of the company Končar Elektroindustrija to the Iraqi market and
  • Strong growth of shares of the company Podravka from Koprivnica.

Croatia’s entry into the eurozone and transition to the euro monetary system won the “Economic Event of the Year” award according to the opinion of the expert jury, and the “Businessperson of the Year” award was presented to Martina Dalić from Podravka (according to the opinion of the expert jury) and Vjekoslav Majetić from DOK-ING (according to public opinion).
